My Travel Diary : Seoul (Part 1)
Before the departure |
I still remember the feeling when I arrived at Seoul, South Korea.
I was happy, amazed, nervous, and afraid at the same time.. Those mixed feelings were there.
I would say, I myself became crazy there.
I felt the distinct feeling of bliss compared to when I arrived at Nagoya, Japan..
After buying the bus ticket to Nowon, I got this and waited for the bus |
The world was so beautiful...I didn't know why... I smiled ear to ear and couldn't believe it myself when I stepped my feet at Incheon Int'l Airport again (since I had layover there before)..
I felt that this what you called 'achieving your dream'.
Back then, I really wanted to go to Korea, with the silly yet sincere reasons..
"I want to meet Oppa" that is indeed so silly and people may wonder, "Oh, why?"
"Don't dream too high"
I would answer, "Hey, you don't know how I feel"
As I grew up, the feeling when meeting korean guys, is different and always makes me excited for no reasons. I often hear, that is when you really like something and you don't know the exact reasons behind it.
To me, Seoul is not just a metropolitan city with its vibrant energy and a city that never sleeps, but
Seoul has that special spot inside my heart that is irreplaceable.
Because of the poeple, its city's corners that are romantic to me..
The crowd that is full of hidden meanings.. that enshrines the charm of the city and its people living inside.
Seoul has become a silent witness of everything..
The madness that I had there..
Travelling around Seoul is a solo adventure by a 19-year-old kid, that depended on the traveler site, Couchsurfing.com, to stay there for six nights without spending money at all for accomodation..
Meeting new friends, the K-Pop fans.. was always part of the adventure..
Me with new friends from Japan and Hong Kong |
My new Japanese friends, Hima and Mina^^ |
And other crazy things I did, such as..
- Walked alone at Cheongdam street to the subway station at 11 p.m. after waiting inside Dunkin Donuts in front the building of JYP Entertaiment Headquarter for Oppas to come out of the building, I did this for two nights in a row. I was crazy, right? But I assured you that nothing happened, the area was so quiet at night and safe as well.. There were not so many cars passing by the streets too.
After I saw all of Twice's members came out of the building and got into that white car |
Though I regretted a bit because I missed some interesting places, such as Ewha University Area, Han River, etc.. Yet, I know and I always say this to myself, "I will go back to Korea".
I am always sure of this.. And I was also sure that I would not get the same opportunity to experience Seoul in such a way that I did.
"Tidak lama lagi, aku akan kembali ke Seoul.. Mengunjungi daerah lain, seperti Busan.. Dimana banyak lelaki impian ku lahir...lol.. dan menikmati sudut-sudut kotanya untuk sekali lagi"
Or .. Should I just live there? :)
I visited other mainstream tourist destinations too, so stay tuned!
To be continued...
