My Belief in Choosing My Path

We have our own paths.

We have our own time. We do not need to look for others’ recognition and validation. That is the belief I have held for those three years of being stuck at one of the biggest state-owned banks in Indonesia.

The thought came across my mind because I always wanted to be recognized based on what I could do. However, the reality was that I was not even assigned to be in a proper division.

I have voiced my opinion to everyone, but in a good way. It took months to proceed and then two years to go back to Jakarta. I have always been blessed to say that I am lucky today because I have been unlucky for the past two years.

I have always been misjudged as someone who was not capable of doing law. How could they say that? The people there did not know my stories and my past. I did not need your validation. Indeed, it hurt me. But, I keep going. I keep proving that they were WRONG.

Now, I could say, I am more than capable to prove that I have the ability to be a lawyer. I was accepted to one of the fastest-growing law firms in Asia. And I made it through my own efforts.

For those who doubt me. I do not care at all about you and your thoughts. I will keep going. I will keep evolving and proving that my previous company, the state-owned company that did not recognize my talent, will regret it.
